This is for a group presentation. It’s focusing on a movement and each of us is focusing on an organization of that movement. So I have one question to present for the movement, and a few for the Organization. The questions are below, along with the movement and organization to focus on. This is a Radical Voices/Women’s study class, so the organization questions need to intersect with the movement and gender studies in some way. Thank you!
Part IV: Research/Gathering Material
Once your group has decided on a topic, then you’ll need to start gathering material for the presentation and papers. You do not have to organize the presentation or paper in any particular way. However, you should cover the following topics in your group presentation.
* Movement Questions:
– What are your thoughts on the future of the movement? Predictions? Suggestions for improvement?
* Individual Organization Questions:
– How does each organization fit into the movement? What aspects of the movement does it focus on?
– What types of strategies does the organization use in its activism?
– Is the organization itself intersectional?
– How would you evaluate the current effectiveness of this organization? What is it doing well? -Where does it need improvement? What has it accomplished so far?
MOVEMENT – Gun Control
ORGANIZATION – Codepink Women For Peace
women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming organization that is grassroots that focuses on the prevention of of US war on other countries such as justice for Iraqis, war regime, etc. Although this org’s approach focuses on war to other countries they actually talk about weaponizing and militarization and how it causes violence
